Emergency Outdoor First Aid

If you are starting out or are training to be an outdoors instructor, the EOFA course may be suited to you. This is ideal if you are working on a conservation area etc. but are not going off into the wilderness. Also ideal as a backup to another first aider. The qualification meets the requirements of the Institute for Outdoor Learning band 2 training

Pros:  Good emergency syllabus, builds confidence, simple to remember
Cons: It Doesn’t cover the more serious conditions, moving a casualty, or protecting from the elements.
Ideal for: Trainees, outdoor enthusiasts, Wildlife rangers, tour guides, youth organisations, ramblers

Outdoor First Aid

This is the 16-hour outdoor first aid course. Far more intensive than other courses. It is designed to meet the requirements of all that work outside. The qualification meets the Outdoor First Aid Band 3 requirements set by the Institute for Outdoor Learning.

Pros: builds confidence, simple to remember
Cons: Doesn’t cover Legislation or catastrophic bleeding
Ideal for: Lowland Leaders, Hill and Moorland Leaders, Mountain Leaders, Outdoor Enthusiasts, Wild Life Trusts

Activity First Aid

Specifically designed for those who are involved in any form of activity, including sports, leisure and recreation. Not only is Basic Life Support included, but many other First Aid conditions are also included, making this qualification very comprehensive.

Pros: Good emergency syllabus, builds confidence, simple to remember
Cons: Doesn’t cover the more serious conditions, moving a casualty, or protecting from the elements.
Ideal for: youth organisations, clubs and associations
